All-Star Weekend will be 100% Buck-free
Tom Enlund reports that neither Ramon Sessions nor Luc Mbah a Moute made the cut for the Rookies/Sophomores game over all-star weekend. Surprising? Not really. Mbah a Moute's style isn't typically rewarded with these types of events anyway, and the rookie class is rather loaded thanks to a strong draft, a pair of good Spaniards (Gasol and Rudy), and last year's first overall pick. Heck, Kevin Love and Marreese Speights didn't even make the team. Harsh.
However, Sessions' snub is a bit more annoying when you consider that Aaron Brooks did make the team. There's no rational argument for Brooks over Sessions: though they have the same per minute scoring rate, Sessions' assist rate, rebound rate, scoring efficiency, +/- (on a worse team even), and PER are all notably higher. It's not like Brooks was a high pick or is otherwise well-known either, but perhaps Sessions' sporadic minutes pre-Redd injury did him in. And on the bright side at least we don't have to worry about Sessions getting hurt or upping his summer free agency value with a 20 assist night in Phoenix. Silver lining, eh Bucks fans?
