Free Agency Begins ... NOW!

So, that magical time of the year is back when the Bucks alternately have no cap space and sit tight or have cap space and watch all of their targets choose sunnier destinations. That's right Bucks fans, it's free agency time!

Sporting News has a great breakdown of available free agents.

Star-divide

Given the economy and team's needs, we might just have a shot at retaining Ramon Sessions for less than the max offer. That would be nice.

Also, I think the affordable/valuable player we should target is Antonio McDyess. He brings everything we don't have, proved his value when he left the Pistons and was Detroit's most valuable player after Billups left. www.wagesofwins.com/2009MVP.html

With Hammond's history with the Pistons and McDyess' low profile, this is a home run we could actually get.

Finally, Truehoop has this to say about losing Charlie:

Charlie Villanueva teamless. He becomes one of the very best players ever to find himself without a qualifying offer.

Given his age and tools, I worry that we'll regret passing him. However, I am still hopeful that management knows that what he has is not exactly what we need.
