A trade that allows Bucks to land Boozer ...
What do you think: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lzkp3q ?
It seems like it works well for everyone involved! Dallas gets Redd (as all the rumors seems to indicate they ARE intested). Utah gets a starting wing and a back-up to Millsap, and the Bucks get two expiring contracts, and fills that gaping hole at PF (plus a promising young sg).
I still think Boozer would be gone in 2010 if he plays for the Bucks, but at least this finally gets the team looking even more financially stable (somehow, Hammond needs to get rid of DG).

I’d do this in a heartbeat. Ridding ourselves of his bloated contract is the only way to go in this rebuild we’ve begun. After seeing his first performance on Friday, we could have a diamond in the rough from Jodie Meeks…

no way
the Jazz aren’t going to give up Ronnie Brewer for Josh Howard, especially when they’re also losing Boozer. I just don’t think they gain enough.

The problem is that the Jazz want to shed Boozer's salary.
This keeps Utah’s salary exactly the same. However, if they let Millsap go to Portland, then salary becomes less of a problem. If they decide to do that, trading Boozer becomes easier, because then they don’t have to go through Portland or Oklahoma City. However, that also means that trading Boozer creates a giant hole at the PF position. They would need to get at least a quality 4 back, and Humphries isn’t really that. Howard runs into positional trouble with Kirilenko, whom is pretty much unmovable with his contract.
I do have to give you credit though. At least you included Redd in the deal. It will take a player of that caliber in order to get something done. I wish Blazer fans would try that hard sometimes.

I’m certainly no expert at this but the way it added up when I hashed this out, was that Utah has 15.3 mil going out and 13.8 mil in salary coming in. Given their cap room, doesn’t this now allow them to match Portland’s offer (his offer sheet does seem a bit complex though with the signing bonus and all the money up front, so I’m not sure how that would figure into things)?
Here it is with Miles instead of Brewer: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kpmakg

Jazz fan here
A couple of things.
First, as T Darkstar mentioned, if the Jazz are trading Booze to resign ‘Sap, they’ll need cap space, not similar contracts. This doesn’t help there.
Assuming then, that they decide to let ‘Sap leave, and are just trading Boozer because he’s not what they want… a couple things.
1- Truthfully, as a Jazz fan, I’d prefer Redd to Howard. Maybe it’s just me though.
2- The Jazz won’t give up Brewer. Maybe CJ Miles, but not Brewer.
3- Kris Humphries has already had 1 failed stint with the Jazz… one that ended so badly, it saw him traded for lottery-bust Rafael Araujo. I don’t see him returning.
A trade of Booze/CJ for Redd (and maybe a youngster or a pick or something) wouldn’t be too bad… depending what the Jazz do in regards to finding another big.

I kicked around an RJ/Boozer deal around the deadline last year, and would be content to throw Redd in there instead (obviously we’d have to add something coming back).
Sure, Boozer would probably ditch us at the first opportunity, but if you’re OK dumping Redd’s salary (which they might as well be) then getting an all-star rental isn’t a bad way to do it. Plus he could have S&T value next summer, though there might be too many teams with cap room to make it useful.

Unrelated to Redd...
how untouchable is Bogut? And if he’s not, would would it cost to land him?
Would Boozer be too little?
How about an AK/Boozer for Redd/Bogut deal?
Just curious.
I’ll admit to not knowing much about the Bucks in terms of their untouchables and all… I’m just trying to find a deal for my own pleasure here…

We'd need a star caliber player who's not a rental
Bogut’s not a superstar but I think the Bucks would only deal him if they thought he could be the centerpiece of a package to get a bigger star. Boozer’s very good, but his lack of defense and impending departure through free agency make it a non-starter with Bogut.
I hesitate to call anyone on our team an untouchable, but Bogut’s not a guy I picture getting traded anytime soon.
