Sessions to Greece?
Just read that Olympiakos (Greece, same team Childress plays for) may target Nate Robinson or Ramon Sessions. It is scary to think we may have to compete with a European team that can probably pay a lot more cash than we can for Ramon. They could also probably offer him a bunch more playing time as he wouldnt have to compete with Brandon Jennings. Does this worry anyone else?

playing time
I don’t think that he will have to compete with Jennings for playing time. Case in point-Skiles found a way to get Mbah a Moute plenty of time with Jefferson in the line up. If we ever want to be a contender, we are going to need players who come off the bench who could be starters on other teams.

The positive spin...
We wouldn’t be hearing about Europe if Sessions was getting a ton of interest among NBA teams, but given the nature of restricted free agency and the number of young points that just got picked, he’s probably not been as popular as some might have expected. Last week it was 12 teams interested, now Woelfel is reporting four teams—and given it’s coming from his agent, you can bet that’s a liberal estimate which probably includes the Bucks.
That said, it only takes one team to make a market, as we saw with the Jarrett Jack signing. I’d be a bit surprised if Sessions ended up abroad but you never know—I’d say New York, Portland, or the Clippers are more likely destinations, depending on what happens with Andre Miller and Iverson.
the Indiana possibility
I wouldn’t rule out interest by Indiana if they don’t match Jack. Indiana could see Sessions as a better playmaker than Jack and a better defender than Ford….or, essentially, a decent combination of Jack/Ford. If they lose Jack, Indiana will have to secure another competent PG given Ford’s injury history and his defensive issues. of course, New York makes a ton of sense if they don’t sign Andre Miller. Portland’s offense is geared more towards Hinrich’s game than Sessions…however, Portland is really the only team that could offer Sessions a contract that Milwaukee might have trouble matching (given their ability to use signing bonuses and other measures to deter matching…and given the salary cap room to back load the contract to up the per year price…since the first 2 years have to start at the MLE).
Jones signing takes them out of the equation?
They don’t have cap space, so giving Dahntay Jones four years and $11 million knocks out a good chunk of their MLE. If it has max raises then it probably starts around $2 million, which gives them under $4 million left over. If they want to give Sessions that as a base salary, the Bucks could certainly afford to match it.

Also, I think length of deal might be just as important as actual salary. A one-year MLE deal is probably more appealing to the Bucks than a five year deal for the same amount, even though that’s not an unfair salary. I’d guess the presence of Jennings and the Bucks’ bad history with long term deals would make them prefer not to have to match a five year contract.

Hey Der what about money?
I would be comfortable giving him the full MLE, I think that he’s worth it (at least). Jacks just got 20 mil over 4 years…and I think that Sessions is worth a similar deal. Given the market now is the time to wrap him up for even longer. don cha tink?

I’m curious to see if the Jack deal has an effect. That was kind of a unique situation since the Raps are also hoping to keep Bosh happy and the two of them are old GT buddies, but it also messes up the market for RFA PGs. I’m sure Chubby Wells is going to say the Bucks owe Sessions at least that (Sessions is certainly more talented), but of course the truth is that they can pretty much do whatever they want and let other teams dictate his value.
My concern is that not giving Sessions a real offer (they have yet to give him a multi-year offer) runs the risk of alienating him a la Charlie Bell a couple years ago. We’re already seeing the possibility of Olympiacos being used as leverage, though there hasn’t been an official offer yet. A lot of this comes down to Sessions’ preferences, which aren’t clear. Would he prefer to take a discount for a longer-term deal (3 years, $10-12 million?) or would he rather sign for a year or two and then hit unrestricted free agency?

does Jennings make sessions expendable?
Blazers could use a playmaker of session’s caliber, and with your team losing all these wings you might be looking for some decent, young wings for replacement. Now I don’t the the blazers can offer bayless, rudy or batum, but a S&T of Sessions for blake + outlaw is possible.

I think the Blazers will find a way to trade for Hinrich…he’s almost the ideal PG to fit their team need. I think they want someone with a better outside shot than Sessions has.
I agree, with Roy’s ability to handle it you’d probably prefer a guy who can spot up…which Sessions and Miller don’t really do

Question for Bucks fans, re: Sessions
Why wasn’t Sessions able to beat out Ridnour for the starting position?
This was Skiles’ biggest mistake IMO. In fairness, Sessions’ ability to create his own offense means his advantage over Ridnour is even more pronounced off the bench, and Ridnour was less prone to defensive lapses, but the bottom line is that the Bucks weren’t starting their best PG for much of the year.
