Uneven.
The Pacers are terrible on the road (7-28), the Bucks are excellent at home (22-9), the Pacers are awful on offense (28th in efficiency), and the Bucks are quite fascinating defensively (3rd in efficiency. So, something nothing has to give. I don't think the Bucks have been quite good enough for quite long enough to take games for granted, and Scott Skiles will remind them in case they aren't sure.
Drawing it up for 'Drew.
Milwaukee is already 3-0 against Indiana this season, but it's not like they have dominated things. Wins by counts of 84-81 on 31 and 18 from Bogut, 93-81 on 21 and 8 from Bogut, and 112-110 on 15 and 10 from Bogut. Indeed, the Aussie has led Three Bucks in each of the first three matchups so far, easily having his way with Indiana's frontcourt.
On line at the line.
The Bucks are shooting 87-104 (.837) at the free throw line in March. Andrew Bogut is 24-29 (.828) this month. Incredible.

I guess we finally managed to jinx Bogut
3/7 ft and 2/10 fg in the first half…thankfully Stackhouse fired up the old time machine again for another big half.

Jerry Stacked!
Somehow he ends up second on the team in attempts.
I do, also, like that Jennings is back to his 5Reb/gm that he originally showcased. But seriously, I will take a 8-8-5-3St from our fcilitator. And Ridnour seems to have re-discovered his early season mojo as well.

i'm all about jennings being a pass-first guy but he does need to score more than 8 a game for this team to be a real threat...
he can be too much of a threat when using his quicks to get to the bucket and either set up his teammates or get a shot at the rim…
3/7 ft yup we asked for it….Bogut’s firing them out these days what is that 33 shots in the last two games once upon a time it used to take him about 4 games to put that many up….though im almost let down by 3 blocks after the last month
nice play from the bench take that any day Stack, Ridnour & Thomas……..Stackhouse another one for the Hammond collection….whatever they are paying him its a bargain
just a note I now TJ Ford was stinking it up earlier in the season but surely that back court trio of Rush, Watson, Price & Jones yikes, should mean he could at least get past the DNP. I could understand if they were trying to play in a high rookie pick but 43 minutes of Brandon Rush there should be some sort of crime against that
Come on
Always assume TJ Ford is injured. And under indictment for marijuana. What ever happened with that anyway? I always thought the stenosis was more David Stern saying, “Pot bust in my league? Nope. Spinal stenosis.”
Nevertheless, I would definitely declare Jerry Stackhouse as a success. And I believe he is making literally the pro-rated league minimum for a player of his experience. So…yeah. Kohl’s bank account pie chart should have but a prosciutto slice ear-marked for Stack this year. Next year… And yes, I’m serious.

Salmons
ESPECIALLY if Salmons ends up opting out. I continue to be 50/50 on whether I want Salons to opt out. One the one hand, he’s been playing superbly and his salary for next year is very palatable, especially if Redd doesn’t come back. On the other hand, if he did opt out, we would have the ability to sign a younger player to the MLE and the Bulls’ entire reason for making the Salmons trade would me moot.
But considering that both he and Stack have done the one thing we needed early in the season, get into the paint and draw fouls, it would be pretty difficult to replace.

Salmons & Redd
in terms of Salmons, isnt this kinda what he did for the Bulls last year, when they got him from was it Philly or Sac?, anyway avg around 19-20 points, got the play off push going, by the middle if this year he was stuck to the bench, now Im just assuming thats what being coached by Vinny for more than one season will do to you and now that stench has washed off he is back to playing pretty efficient basketball…………I think his salary is what 5.5 in this league thats very very palatable especially when we have Dan riding the pine at an eye popping 7-8 million
say Redd comes back next year do we have a Tracy McGrady situation, obviously not to that extent, but where the team is kinda happy for him not to play because it seemingly messes up the team chemistry?
haha the Senator has already taken into account opening the check book and overpaying Stack next season ;), I read somewhere there are jacking up ticket prices well played……..id almost pay Stack for his yoda like wisdom, soundbites & quotability in the lokcer room, it only took what 12 odd seasons to wise up and acquire it…..3 point shooting icing on the cake
Salmons
Straight outta Sac-town. And that’s exactly why if he opts out, I really hope we don’t extend him. He plays well in a playoff push but he plays a position that is pretty easily filled. We have Delfino whose “partially guaranteed” contract is all but assured. Bell still collects checks. We have a bevy of picks.
But I will say this about Salmons’ understanding of his role. He continues to get minutes for Skiles and that can’t be overstated. Skiles has no problem yanking minutes or even throwing out a DND-Coach if a player isn’t doing what he is asked to do. Salmons took very little time to get inserted into the Starting Five. As you alluded to, there is a distinct difference between Skiles and VD Negro (can we bring this back or has it already been condmened?)
Chicks Dig The Long Ball.
this is where Hammonds earns his paycheck
yeah this is one of those in between ones, the guy is what 30, he is playing pretty good basketball, the team is going well……….Id say its one of those contracts your better off not signing, taking what seems a cheap option, but your in fact doing your team a service by not tying them into a contract like that for 3-4 years, when you can find a similiar option, the killer is if he has a really good play off series, thats when you start to get antsy and do something you regret later……..hello Jerome James, Tim Thomas (what a waste of talent by the way, couldnt help it)
yup thats true as well, maybe Skiles gets a bit malik allen attached to Salmons…..poor Vinny I dont blame him for getting hired I blame the hiree
If Salmons opts out?
It looks like he wants to get paid, but with such a stacked FA class he might be better off waiting til next year. What if he opts out this year and we give him a 3 yr deal worth 15-20 mil since it doesnt look like Evan Turner will fall in this years draft. Any thoughts?
its tough firstly he seems like a stand up guy, no theatrics, fits in well with the team, knows his role, secondly 19-20 points is nothing to sneeze at, especially after watching Charlie Bell start most of the year, he gives the backcourt some size, he hits free throws
and then I look at his career record and what happened last year how he dropped away, and I think yup signing this is a mistake, these sort of deals you end up regretting later, guess have a look over the rest of the season & playoffs
one thing Hammonds doesnt seem like he is the guy to get sucked in
and also when you look at who is running Golden State, The Clipps, Minnesota, Philly, Detroit, I can go on you’d back your chances of suckering them into a very nice deal and getting an able replacement, a talented young scorer
ETA on Recap?
Since today’s game wasn’t on TV, I’m very eager to read the recap. All I had was a streaming box score. I think we can all assume that Stack should lead “3 Point Bucks”.
Chicks Dig The Long Ball.
from their recap
“Skiles earlier Sunday called this a ‘’trap game,’’ before the Bucks closed out a strong week at home that included wins over Cleveland (without LeBron James ), Boston and Utah.”
I feel like Barry Bonds. Do they really need to remind everyone that the game vs. Cleveland this past week didn’t include LBJ? I would assume most NBA fans know he’s been out up until last night. But thanks for yet another asterisk.
