NCAA/Draft Discussion

Just wanted to start a thread for any NCAA discussion...I forgot to fill out a bracket while I was on vacation so my interests are mostly based on watching for draft prospects. And you obviously didn't need a rooting interest to enjoy yesterday's games--WOW.

Aside from the Badger game, today I'm going to try to keep an eye on James Anderson, Derrick Favors, and Gani Lawal in the OK State/Georgia Tech game at 6:15. We've also got Wesley Johnson and Syracuse playing at 8:30 and Evan Turner/OSU playing shortly thereafter.

My bracket is of the better to be lucky than good variety

I have no confidence in my picks for the second round with all the teams that barely made it through their first game.

Failure is just success rounded down.

Crazy how it seems like every game not involving one of the top seeds has gone down to the wire. My buddy Jonah wrote an article about the declining but more spread out level of talent in the college ranks which seems to back up a lot of what we’ve seen so far.

I have one half of my bracket where I got all but two right through the first two rounds…

The other half my Finals team is already out(Georgetown not Kansas actually) and is overall a mess.

This year I pretty much just randomly picked on most games not involving top 3 seeds. I used to just kill myself trying to analyze these things statistically but now i just kinda pick on a whim with similar results.

Final Four = draft bust

Would have been nice to see some real prospects involved, but so much for that. Btw, Gery Woelfel asked Babcock, Sampson, and McKinney their Final Four picks before the tournament and not surprisingly they mostly whiffed. But Babcock picked Butler tomake the F4 and had this to say about their star wing, 6’8" sophomore Gordon Hayward:

I think Gordon Hayward is a star player and they got some good inside players like (Matt) Howard and their point guard (Shelvin) Mack is a tough kid. I think they could do some damage.

DX has him 26th in their current mock, so it’ll be interesting to see if he comes out and whether he ends up being around when the Bucks pick in the 2nd round. You can read more about him at DX.
