Delfino and Ilyasova schedules for the weekend
Ersan started yesterday and today at Turkey’s losses against Lithuania and Serbia: he made 8 and 3 points respectively. I couldn’t find the box scores for more information. Tomorrow Turkey is playing vs. Germany and Ilyasova should be starting again. Here you can see Fiba’s presentation video of Turkey for the world cup: Ersan is chosen as the team's key player.
Carlitos will be starting as SG tomorrow at noon against Spain and Monday against Brazil in Argentina's prèparation games for the World Cup. It should be possible to watch him here.

Very good Delfino's first half in Arg 40 vs Spain 42
9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists 2 of them really nice , 2 steals. At the end of first quarter he played a couple of minutes as PG, the rest of the time as SG.
Argentina playing without Oberto, Nocioni and backup PG, all of them injured.
Excellent game by Carlitos
playing PG for the whole 2nd half. His numbers: 16 pts, 9 rb, 6 as, 2 st, 3 to. Tomorrow vs Brazil.
Annoying how hard it is to find box scores these games
Thanks palomba…as always. There’s some more stuff on the game at RealGM:
Thanks, Frank, for the link
Great complementary information by my fellow citizen. I wouldalso love to see what’s going on with Ilyasova and Turkey. Seems they are not doing very well: today they loosed to Germany.
Another great game by Carlitos against Brazil
Today in preparation game Argentina 77 against Brazil 73, Delfino played superbly. In the offensive aspect, not only he was the top scorer of the game with 23 points, but made his points when they really mattered: at the beginning of the game with 2 threes to establish an early lead, with 5 points to keep it when Brazil pushed at the beginning of the second half, and at the end with a jumpshot and a incredible closing triple at the last minute. With Prigioni, the other good player in Argentina, they handled the ball efficiently, favoring a fluid circulation of the ball, especially in the first half. In the defensive part he was good as usual, with some nice steals and holding the slippery Barboza for most of the time.
His numbers: 23 points (6/9 triples), 2 reb and 2 assists. http://baloncestoenvivo.feb.es/ Argentina played with Scola, but without Oberto, Nocioni and backup PG and brazil with Barboza and Varejao, but without Splitter and Nené.
Great, great game.
Great to hear
And thanks for the update…as always.

Yeah, both vs Spain and Brazil were excellent Carlito's games
Today twittering with Miguel Romano (http://blogs.lanacion.com.ar/basquet/autor140), who I think he is one of the best basketball journalists down here, he wrote the following when I mentioned Carlitos performance.
“To watch Delfino is like to watch a dancer with a machine gun in the hand. He dances on tiptoes and he kills you. It is the best seen Delfino.”
He then told me that he was playing at Ginobili’s level and he reminded me Spain coach Scariolo’s pointing him and Scola after yesterday’s game and calling them “big NBA stars”.
You know, maybe it’s all product of the excitment of beating our derby rival, something is always sweet no matter the importance of the game. (More now that Brazil is been coached by Ruben Magnano, our former coach when Argentina won its Olympic gold medal)
Or maybe not and Carlito’s better player days are around the corner. For what I’ve seen today this could be the case.
This is the schedule for the three friendly games reamining before WC starts.

"To watch Delfino is like to watch a dancer with a machine gun in the hand. He dances on tiptoes and he kills you."
That is…awesome.
Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
certainly has a way with words
very nice
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
I feel like I'm going to use that quote at some point this season...
Hopefully Carlitos provides ample reasons to break it out…and not in the Lance Stephenson/Delonte West sense :)

not to make light of Stephenson's efforts....but I think he has attached the 'stairmaster' moniker to himself permanently
dancer with a machine gun is just evocative….superb

Did anyone catch the Lithuania USA game?
I’m amazed that Durant, I mean, the USA won. What a hideous start…
My kingdom for a spellchecker. Or Devin Harris. Hopefully both.

I think that composite FIBA basketball is giving the USA players fits.

Durant doesn't go to the line as much as he's used to.
Well TOO BAD Kevin!
The shots would NOT fall in the USA’s direction for the first quarter. Durant’s lousy shooting, combined with Lamar Odom shooting his hype in the face, almost doomed the USA to lose the first half…
