#FearTheDeer Twitter Notes: September 11th, 2010
Jacob (aka Speedy) was kind enough to once again put together his weekly Twitter digest of all things Bucks. Thanks Jacob!
Today on the agenda: Andrew returns to Twitter, Delfino gets a special honor, Jennings reveals a secret, and more, after the jump. (I always wanted to say that.)
Chris Douglas-Roberts (cdouglasroberts)
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (mbahamoute)
Darington Hobson (ParkaySmooth)
Carlos Delfino (cabezadelfino)
Andrew's return to Twitter
I'm sure we've all heard by now that Mr. Bogut has returned from Australia and---for now--- His religious rehabbing to resume updating his Twitter account. The Bucks Twitter universe is a much brighter place with him around, that much I'm sure of. And we have the good news that Bucks fans have been waiting for regarding Bogut: ....he is quitting basketball to pursue a musical career with Brandon Jennings.
@BLKICE3 yo lg when u back in mil. Can i be on your next music video ??
Obviously referencing Brandon's "scandalous" Lady Gaga dancing ways, this resulted in a discussion that culminated in asking whether newly signed training camp punching bag Tiny Gallon could fit in a diaper. So many jokes, so little time.
CDR - That's all you need to know
Let me just say,Chris Douglas-Roberts is a Twitter gold mine. We might have only gotten him for a future 2nd, but if a player's worth was determined by their tweeting antics, LeBron would have to be shipped to New Jersey to get him out of a Nets uniform.
So, where to begin. Well, CDR sent out a series of... Guidelines, perhaps? All accompained by the hashtag #suckashii. What does that mean? You tell me.
Pretending to be somebody that you're not over the Internet. For ex. "Twitter thugs", "Twitter ballers". #suckashii.
Making up defaming stories/lies about another individual because you dislike him/her. #suckashii.
And these are just a few of them. CDR has a habit of taking hashtags (Ex #OldLadyinTheWindow, #thecrackheaddownthestreet) and making a long series of Tweets describing them, and they're almost as confusing as they are amusing.
As Frank noted in an earlier writeup, CDR has been the very first victim of the Brockness Monster in his new home. And on his own team to boot. The Brockness Monsters spares no one. NO one!
Caught a mean elbow earlier.Big ass gash in my lip.Nose damn near broke.Headache.Not goin to point any ELBOWS who did it>> @mrjonbrockman
You messed with the wrong man, son. Apparently he saw cartoon-esque stars, and was generously helped up by Foghorn Leghorn. I can envision Chris as a cartoon character, but then again, as Big Crazy Dave has shown us, everyone on the Bucks is capable of being larger than life.
On another note, CDR has also shown himself to be as competitive as he is hilarious.
It's fine to admire somebody. But don't put yourself in such a submissive state. I admire Kobe, but I want to beat him every chance I get.
Preach brotha, preach!
Oh, and remember that whole Swine Flu thing? No? Neither do I. Okay, I do, but it's a faint memory. Apparently not for Mr. Douglas-Roberts.
Sayyy...whateva happened to the Swine Flu? America. Smh. Jus disappeared huh?
He's got a point. It seemed like one day it was all that was being covered by the media like it was the second coming of the Black Plague, and then poof, no more.
But that's not all...
Probably JR Smith. Who knows where that guys been.
And once again, this is just a few of his tweets about Swine Flu. Are we seeing a trend here? Yep, when Chris goes off on one of his tangents, he's pretty hard to stop.
Carlito's honor (Courtesy of Nike)
I honestly just can't speak speak Spanish (unless you count random bits and pieces as "speaking the language"). The only language I can form coherent and more complex sentences in besides English is Deutsch. (German) And even that isn't very good. Unfortunately, we don't have any German players on the Bucks, do we?
So, when I saw an interesting bit on Delfino's page, I decided to enlist the ever helpful Palomba1 for translating:
Ahi sale foto de la inauguracion del playground en Keyseri http://yfrog.com/9hhv7cj
According to Palomba, the tweet translates into ""Here's the photo of Kayseri playground inauguration". It was a promotional event by Nike where they built a playground in his name where Argentina played their first round. Cool, huh?
Darington Hobson gets his jersey, watches Delfino
Hobson has been a hot topic recently as training camp approaches and continued concerns about his health. However, one area where there shouldn't be concern is about his dedication: (Well, his dedication according to Twitter)
Yup.
Oh, and he got his jersey too. Hope we'll actually get to see him in it...
Jon Brockman's burger/house-building fun
Besides beating up helpless teammates, Mr. Jon Brockman also enjoys trolling around local burger joints. So much so, that Milwaukee Burger joint AJBombers gave him the honor of his own burger: The Brockness Burger.
@ajbombers the Milwaukee burger was great. I think there needs to be a "Brockness Burger" added to the menu. What do you think?
As for the end result? Ehh I dunno, no offense to Jon, but I don't think I'd be eating that anytime soon.
Brocknessie also continues to spread his goodwill by helping build a house with M&I Bank and Habitat for Humanity:
Helping out M&I Bank and Habitat for Humanity build a house this morning. Time to drive a few nails.
Jenning's Special announcement...
Jennings hair style last season was a frequent storyline. I can't even remember all the different hairstyles he used throughout the season, but it's safe to say a picture of Jennings wasn't going to be the same a few weeks later. (I'm still curious if there was a correlation between his hairstyle and his play) So, what about this year?
i'm rockin twist and then cornrows all next season there it is
Following in the path of his idol Iverson?
Other Twitter Notes
In case you're wondering, the Bucks are tied with the Clippers and Heat for 2nd most players on Twitter in the NBA. The honor for the most goes to the Celtics.
Dakota Schmidt (@Dakota_Schmidt) released his newest episode of the Bucks cast, featuring Jason Reid, director of the amazing documentary, Sonicsgate, about the relocation of the Seattle Sonics to Oklahoma City. It's a long one, so make sure you set aside some time to watch it.

nice work speedy.....
actually that was the first time I checked that Jennings Gaga dancing video………….and im just realising the reality that we are about to swing for the fences with Jennings who I assume is the scrawniest pg in the league after that video and emo Bogut, Drew Gooden, Cory Maggette, John Salmons, Keyon Dooling & Earl Boykins, Prince, Ersan, Carlos and Larry Sanders…..WTF…….run….. run for the Hills
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
ok I paniced a bit.....maybe

We're a bunch of misfits, it's true
And TJ Ford might still hold that title :)

Curious Omission..
You left CDR out of the group. You will hasten to include him as a key Bucks member soon as preseason starts and you see him play. Bet on it.

Okay, now your just nitpicking.

He will definitely be in the top 15
Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
Ha!
Squad Six is to the Bucks what beer is to Milwaukee (or anywhere else for that matter)... the catalyst for you doing dumb things in public and not feeling self-conscious!

apologies to CDR

Great post, Speedy!
I now can understand a little bit more what some of the young players are talking about.
no updates from the ghost....that makes me nervous
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
“Oh, and he got his jersey too. Hope we’ll actually get to see him in it…”
Snap. Like a twig in the forest.
So cynical at a such young age. I’m sure we’ll be able to see him in his jersey, as we did David Noel, Joe Alexander and the esteemed Mr. Yi.
Was really just referring to his injury
If the rumors are true and it may be more serious, then there’s a chance he’ll have to sit out the whole year.

BTW, Black Ice can't be his nickname
It’s cold, irrevocably generic and says absolutely nothing about a player. Jennings’ nickname for himself can’t be one that he thought of for a shoe when he read his air freshener in his car.
Jennings' Cornrows
Knowing Jennings, that won’t be his style for the season. Like a girl returning home from Mexico, in time the shock of the new style will give way to the realization that in the real world, nobody looks good with cornrows.
Bronson Arroyo demands you recant

Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
Fantastic.

well played sir
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
Ilyasova getting rebounds, but making strange decisions with the ball
I can’t believe anyone bites on his herky jerky pump fake.
Durant should get all of the medals in this tournament
It should be the world vs. an NBA Jam style team up of Durant and Westbrook. Seems fair.
One man game thread?
Anyway…. Go Turkey

Hey this game is as big if not bigger than the Decision this summer
I sat through that, this is much better. I’d like to see one of the teams run a play rather than pass it til there’s an open three (USA) or force it inside for a shot that would be good if there weren’t three defenders all over it (Turkey).
Yeah, I noticed that style of play too....

And of course
Anything that involves people playing the game instead of shoving your ego in front of the camera for an hour is bigger then the decision.

I hear that Durant kid is half decent
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
What? Ridiculous.

i heard it on the grapevine
"That," says LeBron, "is for everyone that watches me play. They witness something special. You're all a witness."
Not only did Seattle get screwed out of a team - now they have to watch Durant blossom into an MVP.
My heart goes out to Sonics fans – they got royally screwed.
Makes the move all the more painful
KD obviously wasn’t quite the superstar as a rookie that he is now, but still…everyone was expecting special things.
