Brew Hoop Fantasy Basketball League

What up everybody? So, I've run into a bit of trouble trying to reactivate our fantasy basketball league from last season, so if people are interested again, I'll probably just start a new one.

Obviously this is pretty late notice, considering the season starts in a week, but if we have to start a little late, so be it. Would've been tough to do a draft before all this player movement anyway.

Just a few issues I wanted to ask you guys about...

1) Draft time? Because of our rather international following, it's tough to work out a good draft day and time. I have a particularly confounding schedule, working most weekday nights, and I expect most people won't want to do a draft this weekend. But I'm happy to schedule one this week and just autopick if the majority of people involved can find a decent time.

2) We'd like to give regular Brew Hoop community members the first shot at joining the league before bringing in friends and such to fill slots. That means we need to get a good idea of who here wants to participate in the next day or two. I think a 12 team league would be ideal, unless it turns out we can even go deeper (I'm of the opinion that deeper leagues are more fun and tend to mitigate the damage an auto-draft can do!), but cutting it down to 10 is alright too.

Anyway, what does everybody think? Sorry again for the late start!

Oh, and seeing as I'm on leave now, I don't mind when the draft is done...in the evening (Milwaukee time) suits me just fine :)

Monday the 26th?

How would people feel about the night of Monday the 26th? I’m off of work that day, figured maybe other people would be too. We could do it afternoon, evening, or later. Obviously we’ll miss out on the Christmas day games, but we wouldn’t miss the entire first week.

Of course...

If we do it in the evening, we’ll be overlapping with the Bucks’ season opener, but that’s fine by me. I think I can find the willpower to peel my eyes away from what should be a truly enthralling contest. We could do it earlier that day, too. Might be easier, unless people have family engagements.

I think Jacob has my fave so far with “The Hammonds.”

Brandon wins the award for most revealing name: “KC Bucks”…though that also sounds like kind of a threat :)

Big fan of “The Hammonds”. I’m thoroughly disappointed with mine. Trying to come up with a new one, but I’ll readily admit that I’m having a hard time finding decent puns with the name “Leuer”.
