Central Division: Position breakdown/Fantasy swap
So I was reading through some of the older posts here, trying to catch up on some missed reading and fan feedback. I saw a lot of discussion on Brandon Jennings, team needs moving forward and things of that nature. I thought it would be fun to do a little game where we rank the best players at each position in the central division and then get to make one swap to see how the team would look.
Again, this may not be the "best" player at the position, just my personal preference. Also, if I rank players ahead of Bucks, it does not mean I do not want that player on the team. Rankings also reflect the "right now" attitude. So in a year, maybe Jennings jumps over Stuckey, but this year I felt Stuckey was the better player (as an example).
PG: Derrick Rose, Rodney Stuckey, Brandon Jennings, Darren Collison, Baron Davis
SG: John Salmons, Anthony Parker, Paul George, Keith Bogans, Rip Hamilton
SF: Danny Granger, Luol Deng, Carlos Delfino, Tayshaun Prince, Alonzo Gee
PF: Carlos Boozer, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, JJ Hickson, Tyler Hansbrough, Chris Wilcox
C: Andrew Bogut, Joakim Noah, Roy Hibbert, Greg Monroe, Ryan Hollins
I already know the first thing going to be said is John Salmons!? WTF man!? But the truth is there is just not much talent at the SG position in this division and he is still about as complete a guard (potentially) in the Central. I think clearly Indiana, as of now, will have the best SGs in the division next season if George and Rush keep growing.
So, if I had to make one flip-flop, it is simple. I take Rose for Jennings. The team would have a go-to player with plenty of great pieces around him. Makes the Bucks a top-4 team in the East in my opinion.
What would you do? How do you rank the players? Am I as high as a kite for ranking Salmons No. 1 at SG?

Seeing this reminds me how talent-less our division is...
the Bucks shouuld finish in 2nd without breaking a sweat. BTW like the rankings.
"I was looking at my résumé, feeling real fresh today, they rewrite history, I don't believe in yesterday."

Prince>Delfino
"You play anybody and if they shoot 70 per cent from three, they're going to be tough to beat." More wise words from Chris Bosh
Cool idea!
Only three possible ranking changes for me:
I’d probably swap Paul George and Anthony Parker. George was a better shooter this year (though not from deep) and he’s a better defender. Incredibly enough, I can’t argue with Salmons out in front: when he’s on, he’s better than any of those other guys, though Paul George has a bright future.
I’d probably bump Collison above Jennings. He was a better shooter and had a significantly higher assist rate.
Hibbert looked good at times this year, but I’d put Monroe ahead of him. His offensive Synergy numbers are way better (Hibbert actually had a lower PPP than Jennings this year, which I was shocked to see) and they’re pretty comparable in rebound rate. Hibbert is a better defender, though, and seems to have a little more range on his shot.
I’d say the Bucks really need a Danny Granger-esque player: a quick wing with deep range and good offensive skills. Basically an upgraded version of Delfino, which is a little sad to say, as Delfino has done everything we could have hoped in Milwaukee.

Good points, I actually debated all three of those things in my head while doing this. I agree especially with Collison who continues to impress the hell out of me with his poise. He has really played hard in this series tryin to hang with Rose.
And I agree about George, like I said in my initial post, I think the Pacers may have the best SGs in the Central next season if George keeps improving and especially if Lance Stephenson can build off his flashes of brilliance. As far as Hibbert/Monroe, to be honest I haven’t seen a lot of Piston games this season. I’ve seen a good amount of Hibbert and have always been pretty satisfied with what I see out of him, but you may be right I just haven’t seen enough of Monroe at this point.
It does illustrate how really BAD the Cavs were this season...
…how good the Bulls HAVE been and how good the Bucks SHOULD have been.
I’d swap Bogans and Rip, though Rip has fallen off a long way this season. And yeah, the only player you would swap would be Rose for Jennings IMO. Granger would be a big upgrade on Carlitos, but Rose would have the bigger impact.
Squad Six is to the Bucks what beer is to Milwaukee (or anywhere else for that matter)... the catalyst for you doing dumb things in public and not feeling self-conscious!
I would think Gooden would be better then Wilcox at least
Funny, the central isn’t short on good centers but the SG is just awful…
