Bucks waive camp invites Tucker, Gill, Farrakhan, Greene

Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE

The Milwaukee Bucks waived four camp invites today, cutting the roster down to the 15-man regular season limit.

John Hammond announced the Milwaukee Bucks released four players from their training camp roster, cutting the team down to the 15-man regular season limit, according to Charles Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Bucks waived guards Mustapha Farrakhan, Eddie Gill, and Orien Greene, along with forward Alando Tucker.

Farrakhan, Gill, and Greene each appeared in three preseason games, while Tucker played in four contests. None of Milwaukee's camp invites was able to make a significant impression on the team, though the odds were stacked heavily against them from the onset; Milwaukee's roster was essentially locked in before camp began. Each player signed as a free-agent on October 1.

Farrakhan, Greene, and Tucker each spent time in the NBA Development League recently, while Gill played for the Australian NBL's Townsville Crocodiles.

The Bucks' roster is now presumably locked in, and coach Scott Skiles will turn his attention to setting an opening-day starting lineup. Point guard, shooting guard, and power forward appear to be settled, but the 3 and 5 aren't necessarily cast in stone. Tobias Harris played well in preseason and appears to have the inside track on the starting small forward position, but Marquis Daniels' insertion into the second-half starters during Milwaukee's last preseason game casts a hint of doubt on his status. Meanwhile, Samuel Dalembert was the assumed starter at center, but Larry Sanders has seen substantial time at the pivot this month including a few starts.

Less than a week until it all makes sense! Or something!
