Jason O. Watson-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Beno Udrih will not return to the Bucks' first preseason game after hitting his head on a teammates' knee.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Beno Udrih suffered a head injury midway through the first quarter of the team's first preseason game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and according to a tweet from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Charles Gardner (relaying information from the Bucks organization), Beno Udrih will not return to the game. Udrih stumbled backwards and knocked his head against the knee of teammate Larry Sanders after taking a charge.
With Udrih unavailable, the Bucks have played new acquisition Marquis Daniels more heavily than expected. At halftime, his 13 minutes were fourth highest on the team. If Udrih misses additional time, it could make Daniels a regular fixture in exhibition play. Doron Lamb is unavailable to the team after suffering a torn ligament in his elbow during team activities prior to training camp.
Some of the Bucks' camp invites would presumably see the court a bit earlier than expected as well, but extra pressure will be placed on Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis to carry the load if Udrih misses regular season games. Ellis saw minutes at point guard next to Daniels after Udrih's injury, while camp invite Eddie Gill saw PG minutes in the second half.
