Draft Talk

So I know it is still really early in the season to be deciding on top draft picks and March Madness will be really awesome to watch and get a better idea of how "soon to be" NBA draft picks play against other top players in college, but just curious to get an idea of what you all think so far. Oh, and please don't say Wiggins just because everyone else has been raving about him. I really want to know what those of you who have actually watched a few games by Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Oklahoma State, etc have to say. I have watched Duke, Kansas, and Oklahoma State a bit, but not nearly enough to really have that informed of an idea of each player (I just don't have the time). Just to note, these are not in any particular order.

JABARI PARKER - I was really into Jabari Parker early on since he was a bigger forward and the Bucks have PLENTY of really thin tube men. Parker is 6-8 and 235 lbs according to ESPN stats, so 3 inches shorter than Larry Sanders with the same weight. Really like the way he plays, but his shooting percentage has been "meh" as of late. Like I said though, still way too early to tell. I do like he is a physical and energetic player who has shown he can shoot the ball pretty well. Even a few 3s here and there, although I wouldn't want him to take too many.

JOEL EMBIID - Really liking this kid the more I watch him play. True 7 footer and and 250 lbs, and add to that once in the NBA and that really excites me. I really think Embiid is going to become a great NBA player for whoever picks him up in the draft. Pretty good shooting percentage, rebound machine, and very good at shot blocking as well. Reminds me a bit of Akeem Olajuwon. Oddly enough he supposedly started playing basketball in 2011, but his coach has taught him very well so far.

ANDREW WIGGINS - I'll be honest, I haven't really watched him that much. I've seen him play about 3 games so far this season. From what I have seen, I can definitely see why there is a lot of hype about this kid. He has a lot of energy and attacks the basket. I haven't been extremely impressed from what I have seen, but the potential to be a great player is definitely there. Looking forward to seeing him play more this year. Be curious to hear what you all have to say about him with some facts to back it up. Again, I have heard too many uneducated people ranting about this kid because its kind of been the thing to do. Not saying he doesn't deserve the praise, just sick of people trying to act like they know what they are talking about when it comes to Wiggins (which admittedly I do not).

MARCUS SMART - I know I know, Dante Exum is ranked above Marcus Smart, but that kid is all the way over in Australia and I haven't seen him play 1 second of basketball. So until I do, I like Smart as the #1 PG in this draft. I am really biased on this guy, and almost would even want the Bucks to pick him up even at #1 . . . now I did say almost so don't crucify me haha! I think Smart can be really good in the NBA. He is a bulkier PG who can pretty much get to the basket without much problem, and I love that he is working on his 3 point shot with at least some success. He has shown he can dish out some pretty nice assists, but he is definitely more of a scoring PG. I would much prefer an outside shooting PG who gets double digit assists per game for the Bucks (dishing to Giannis, Henson, Sanders, or one of the above draft picks would be pretty awesome). So that is one of my downsides, but I do think he could maybe pull off a somewhat hybrid of scoring and assisting. Marcus Smart is definitely one guy I will continue to watch. Really excited for the Kansas vs Oklahoma State game on Jan. 18th.

So that's it. Not going to comment on other draft possibilities like Randle, Exum, Gordon, or whoever, because like I said I just haven't watched 1 second of them playing. Although feel free to educate me in the comments. Just trying to get a better idea of what you all think of these players, and who you think the Bucks should draft given they have a top pick.
