Bucks SF Targets outside the Lotto

Number three in the set, we now move on to small forwards. There are quite a few small forwards that might go in the 16-60 range, I have listed seven in this post.

Small forward might be a position the Bucks really don't look at that hard though, they have Giannis and Middleton there, I know BPA and all that but when it gets out of the lotto, it's harder to separate players and position might be more of a determining factor.

Incumbents-Giannis Antetokuonmpo, Khris Middleton, Carlos Delfino

1. K.J. McDaniels-Clemson

Height-6'6"

Age-21

DX Top 100-#20

Strengths-Physical tools, defensive impact, superb athlete, explosive leaper, rebounding, versatility, slashing ability

Weaknesses-BBIQ, creating offense, shooting consistency, mentality, loose handle, court vision

My Take- While I like him as a prospect, if we keep both Giannis and Middleton there isn't any PT for McDaniels and I'd hate to use assets to make the move up to get him if he isn't going to play. He can definitely carve out a niche in the NBA, just dont think it will be on the Bucks.

2. Rodney Hood-Duke

Height-6'8"

Age-21

DX Top 100-#22

Strengths-Great height, shooting stroke, shooting range, improving slasher, feel for the game, post moves, court vision

Weaknesses-finishing with right hand, weak handles, low FTr, not much strength, defense, creating offense

My Take- He'll be 22 when the season starts, right now just looks like a spot-up shooter in the NBA so if I'm the Bucks I probably don't have a lot of interest in giving up assets to go get him. I'd rather just stick with Middleton at this point.

3. T.J. Warren-NC State

Height-6'8"

Age-20

DX Top 100-#16

Strengths-Scoring at the rim, transition offense, offensive rebounding, excellent off ball

Weaknesses-Shooting range, tweener, defensive rebounding(leaks out rather than boxes out), athleticism, getting teammates involved, defense

My Take- I see a Corey Maggette type player(poor man's?) here and frankly I'm not interested in that, especially if I am moving up to get him. He would be a guy i would go after if I was closer to being a good team(Raptors, Bulls etc)

4. Kyle Anderson-UCLA

Height-6'9"

Age-20

DX Top 100-#17

Strengths-Court vision, passing skills, defensive rebounding, starting a break off rebounding, versatility, mid-range game, slashing

Weaknesses-Shooting range, who can he defend, nickname slo-mo(enough said), not very athletic, turnover prone, strength

My Take- Very interesting prospect that should have a decent NBA career, just not sure the Bucks could ever play him and Giannis together, is he a better passing , less athletic Lamar Odom? Think Atlanta would be all over this guy

CB's Interest Level-5/10

5. Jerami Grant-Syracuse

Height-6'8"

Age-20

DX Top 100-#19

Strengths-Size/wingspan, defensive effort, athleticism, explosiveness, finishing, rebounding

Weaknesses-Shooting range, shot creation, ball handling, strength

My Take- If he can get his outside shot, he could be a star. Saw a comp to Al-Farouq Aminu which seems pretty close, Aminu has yet to find his shot and remains a spot player now. Probably going to go in the late teens, I don't see the Bucks making a move for him , given the choice between Grant and Daniels I think I go KJ.

6. Cleanthony Early-Wichita State

Height-6'8"

Age-23

DX Top 100-#30

Strengths- athleticism, scoring ability, post-up scoring, physical tools, improving shooting

Weaknesses-Tweener(maybe best as small-ball 4), BBIQ, not a good passer, age, ball handling, shot creation, doesn't go to his left well

My Take- Another one of these College 4s that will have a tough time transitioning to the 3 in the pros, definitely could carve out a niche as a John Drew type bench scorer in the NBA. Due to age and positional issues, I take a pass.

7. Damien Inglis-Roanne

Height-6'9"

Age-18

DX Top 100-#40

Strengths- athleticism, length, active defensively, upside, rebounding, transition offense

Weaknesses-Shooting mechanics, scoring ability, turnovers

My Take- I'd really be happy if the Bucks took a shot at him. Guy is boom or bust imo, leave him in Europe for a year or put him on a D-League team and have him work on his shot. See some resemblances to LRMAM with room for growth. Think he could play some 4 in the NBA as well.

CB's Interest Level-9/10

Others-DeAndre Daniels, Glenn Robinson III, LaQuinton Ross, Thanasis Antetokuonmpo
