Bucks SG Targets outside the Lotto

This will be the first in a series of five fanposts that will deal with a position-by-position look at some players that the Bucks could be looking at outside of the lotto. I don't include the top guys as they have been looked at much more closely than guys further back, and I don't feel that the Bucks will get another Top 14 pick regardless. I have included a link to their DX profile page if interested.

I start with SG as I feel that this is the Bucks weakest position at the moment, they played two combo guards for most of the second half of the season, with varying degrees of success

Incumbents-O.J. Mayo, Wolters/Knight

1. P.J. Hairston-D-League

Strengths-size and strength, experience from D-League, shooting ability, Gets to the line, length on D

Weaknesses-creating offense, BBIQ, effort, red flags, ball handling, lack of passing skills

My Take- I don't think I would move up to try to get him, but if he fell to the 2nd round I'd certainly think about it. The biggest concern for me is he won't be able to beat people off the dribble, doesn't have much of a first step. Reminds be a lot of the Glen Rice Jr. situation last year and how the D-League experience would help him and he would be more ready. Well not so much it seems. Also he will turn 22 before the year is out which drops him down a peg in my books

Strengths-strong and absorbs contact well, scoring instincts, youth, anticipation on D, good off the ball

Weaknesses-Athleticism, shooting consistency, defensive discipline

My Take-I would think about using both early 2nds to move up to get him(if I had to)think he's going to be a pretty good pro. Improved quite a bit from his 1st year to his 2nd and that bodes well for his NBA future.

Strengths-athleticism, shooting ability, youth, scoring in transition, explosive leaper

Weaknesses-Decision making, shot creation, defense, toughness, shot selection, passing instincts

My Take-Would definitely take a chance on him but I think he goes top 20. Boom or bust guy imo, kind of reminds me of a better shooting, worse ball-handling Monta Ellis. Similar to Adams though I would take him with 2 of our secomds if possible.

4. Spencer Dinwiddie-Colorado

Strengths-Scoring instincts, creating for others, pnr offense, defensive potential, versatility, good 1st step, gets to the line

Weaknesses-Lack of athleticism, decision making, strength, effort mentality, jack of all trades master of none?, injury red flag

My Take-I really like the idea of taking a flyer on this guy, think he could have been a borderline lotto pick if not for the injury and would be a great compliment to either Knight or Wolters in the backcourt.

5. Bogdan Bogdanovic-Partizan Belgrade

Strengths-Physical tools, playmaking ability, slashing potential, perimeter shooting, good size, good pnr game

Weaknesses-Decision making, creating offense, intangibles, future, turnover prone, finishing, doesn't get to the line much

My Take-Not sure if he's one of those guys who is a better Euro player than NBA, lack of athleticism hurts for sure. Will he want to come to the NBA to be a bench player? I take a shot at 31 or 36 as he could be a stash player
