It's been a long, long year.
A disappointing one, no doubt. Sometimes head-scratching, sometimes infuriating. There has been a lot to complain about this season in Milwaukee, and complain we have. It's our right, maybe even our duty as fans to be vocal about the product we so voraciously consume for five-plus months out of the year. After tonight, we'll spend the next six months reflecting on the few things that went right and the many more that went wrong. We'll look ahead to the off-season landmarks: the draft; the magical transformation of Michael Redd from an $18 million man into a budget surplus; the prospect of Andrew Bogut playing basketball without shrapnel in his elbow.
It's been a long, long year. But after it all, I can't help feeling that we're all going to miss it, if only just a little.

On the Raptors: Raptors HQ / Raptors Republic / RaptorBlog
With another disastrous meltdown in the books, Milwaukee continues their critical three-game road trip. At this point, though, the critical-ness might have given way to irrelevance. While the Bucks can still pick up a game on Indiana (and simultaneously earn the tiebreaker over the Pacers) when they meet later this week, they've also fallen a full three games behind in the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. There is one remaining option: win.

On the Wizards: Bullets Forever / Truth About It / Washington Post
The Bucks head back out on the road for the first time in over a week as they wrap up the season series against the Washington Wizards. These teams split the first two games, each winning on their home floor, with the victor scoring 100 points in both games. The Bucks hope to break one trend tonight and pick up a critically-needed win.

On the Wizards: Bullets Forever / Truth About It
The Green Bay Packers are probably more excited about their trip to our Nation's Capital than their basketball counterparts from Wisconsin, but the Wizards remain one of the few teams in worse shape than the Bucks, so a successful trip still seems possible, especially coming off a convincing 18-point win over the Raptors. This game marks the second night of a back-to-back and the second of four games Milwaukee will play in five days.

Orlando Pinstriped Post / Magic BasketBlog / Orlando Magic Daily
The Orlando Magic squad Milwaukee will face tonight bears almost no resemblance to the short-handed team they defeated at home almost exactly one month ago. Two members of that night's starting lineup have since been traded away, and the Magic will (unfortunately) have the services of Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard, who both missed the last meeting with flu symptoms.
Just two years removed from an NBA Finals trip, the Magic were shoved aside to a certain extent this year, eclipsed by their in-state rivals and the surprisingly good Bulls in terms of contention-talk. That was probably motivation enough to pull the trigger on a pair of blockbuster trades, significantly revamping the roster in an effort to put them over the top. The makeover didn't work out immediately, with the Magic losing their first two games after finalizing the deals, but they've been on a roll ever since, winning 6 straight by an average of over 15 points a game. That streak includes victories over the Celtics, Spurs, and Knicks.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, is 60 percent finished with perhaps the toughest 5-game stretch any team might face this season. In part thanks to another injured opponent (the Mavericks were without Dirk), the Bucks have gotten one win out of what seemed an inevitable 0-5 stretch, and look to steal another one in Orlando tonight.
Bucks/Bulls: Milwaukee closes out 2010 by opening series with retooled Chicago
On the Bulls: Blog a Bull
Milwaukee kicks off their season series against the new-look Chicago Bulls seeking to upset a team that has rounded into one of the East's best. Two months ago, the popular question was which of these two teams had the inside track toward winning the Central. Today, it seems more likely the Bulls will win the East than Milwaukee the division. Still, there should be no lack of motivation for Milwaukee following last night's torching by the Hawks.
