2008 Olympic Basketball Day One: Inside the Box Score

When the NBA is in session Kelly Dwyer runs a excellent series of posts called "Behind the box score". To be honest I'm not sure how he watches that much basketball. Well in a somewhat new...

Thoughts on Team USA

For anybody who has been watching Team USA's summer has been all about three words - "redemption", "gold medal". And while numerous individuals - players, coaches, and broadcasters - have...

2008 Men's Olympic Basketball Preview: Australia

This is the 5th preview in a series here at Green Bandwagon and At The Hive, as we anxiously await for Olympic basketball to get under way. You can check both of our sidebars for the archive or...

Former Buckeye Redd to play in Beijing for Coach K, Team USA

Former Buckeye off guard Michael Redd will be named as one of 12 members of the 2008 U.S. Olympics Men's Basketball Team looking to return the United States to the pantheon of international hoops. Redd's 3-point marksmanship unquestionably played a critical role in his choice as Uncle Sam's boys struggled to find consistency from the arc in both '00 and '04, even with the shorter international mark of 20 feet, 6.25 inches. Redd becomes only the third Buckeye men's basketball player ever to represent his country at an Olympiad and the first since F/C Bill Hosket Jr. helped the U.S. bring home gold in 1968 in Mexico City.

McGraw's Celtics-Lite plan for the Bulls

McGraw takes a crack at some deals the Bulls could make this summer to mix things up. Three moves: 1) Trade some combo of Tyrus/Gooden/Noah for Emeka Okafor. McGraw suggests that MJ might be willing to help out his former team while swapping for cheaper contracts 2) Kirk + Ced Simmons + PeeOn for Michael Redd. He thinks either Mo Williams or Redd are out of Milwaukee in the offseason 3) Bulls pick up Roger Mason Jr. (??) as a free agent to run the point with Gordon Frankly, I'm not enthused about adding Okafor or Redd to the Bulls and relying on a Mason Jr./Gordon combo at PG would be a disaster. I hope Pax has better options than this over the summer. If not, I hope he's smart enough to just stay pat. EDIT: Roger Mason Jr.'s line from tonight's game: 18 pts (8/14)/2 rebs/0 TO/2 stl leading to a +19 for the game. Maybe he did get a little better. UPDATE - 4/25/08: McGraw's part 2 covers the PG situation (consider trading Noc for TJ Ford or the no. 9 for Lowry), adding depth to the front court (DeSagana Diop ?!!?!?!) and the lack of "stars" available.

2007-2008 Game 55: Denver Nuggets 109 - Milwaukee Bucks 115

Box ScoreI have been putting this post off all weekend.  Even if you did not see the Nuggets loss to Milwaukee, you know how it unfolded.  The Nuggets, fresh off an embarrassing loss to the Bulls,...

2007-2008 Game 55: Nuggets/Bucks Game Thread

After last night’s embarrassment I was tempted to throw a terse little preview out there further ripping on the Nuggets, but I realized I need to be more professional than that.  The loss to the...

Team USA: No Kidd'ing? Vote

With the Bucks' 2007-08 season officially over, we (as Bucks fans) are left with the dilemma of wondering what to do, other than scrutinize potential draft picks that are no longer playing and make...

Nets 111, Bucks 98: Recap

The Bucks didn't look all that concerned about auditioning for their new boss, falling 111-98 to the Nets in front of new GM John Hammond. Vince Carter had his shooting mojo, making 10/15 shots for...
