It wasn't always pretty, but the Bucks did enough to win in Washington D.C. last night. The bench once again proved key in taking down a depleted Wizards team that jumped out to a quick lead but couldn't keep up the effort. There was no lack of intensity, though, which boiled over late in the 4th quarter when a Monta Ellis breakaway drew a hard foul from Wizards rookie Bradley Beal. While Beal immediately went to help Ellis off the ground, Brandon Jennings made his feelings known with a hard shove in Beal's back. A shoving match flared up which eventually got Beal and Jennings tossed from the final seconds of the game. Suspensions for both players seem unlikely, but you can bet they'll each be hearing from league officials sometime soon.
The Bucks now turn their attention to the Boston Celtics, who they embarrassed in the season-opener 8 days ago. Boston's season has been mixed, with their two wins coming in a home-and-home series with Washington by a combined 9 points. They dropped a tough game against Philadelphia last night despite 14 points and 20 assists from Rajon Rondo. The Celtics will be motivated in more ways than one, and it's up to Milwaukee to match that energy.
