Larry Sanders being investigated for nightclub incident over the weekend

According to several reports, Bucks big man Larry Sanders was involved in an altercation at a Milwaukee night club following Saturday night's loss to the Raptors. There have been rumors as to what the incident actually was, but the details are still hazy at this point and the matter is currently under investigation.

The Bucks released the following official statement:

"We are aware of an incident from Saturday evening. The matter is under investigation and Larry Sanders is cooperating fully. At this time we will have no further comment."

The news caps off an overly eventful week for Sanders, who finished the first week of the season averaging a disappointing 2.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game after signing a four-year, $44 million extension in the offseason. Following the Bucks' loss and the night club incident on Saturday night, Sanders' wife gave birth to the couple's second child on Monday, but he missed practice on Tuesday reportedly due to a right thumb injury sustained during Saturday's game. The Bucks are indicating the injury is what will prevent him from playing tonight, though it's unclear if . Andrew Gruman of FS Wisconsin reported on Tuesday:

"It's all swollen," Sanders said. "These hands are big, but as soon as I fall on them, one of these limbs goes the wrong way and it's trouble. (We decided) just to stay off it a little bit."

UPDATE: WTMJ is reporting that Sanders struck a patron over the head with a bottle after he was splashed with champagne, requiring eight stitches. Sanders also reportedly punched the man's brother in the eye.
