Milwaukee County DA: No charges to be filed against Larry Sanders

Larry Sanders' rough week on the court appeared to have gotten much worse after police began investigating an altercation Saturday night involving Sanders at a local nightclub.

After conducting an investigation into an alleged fight at a night club on Saturday night, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office has announced it will not be filing charges against Bucks' center Larry Sanders. FS Wisconsin's Andrew Gruman tweets:

Sanders missed Wednesday's win over Cleveland with an apparent thumb injury sustained against Toronto, though it wasn't clear at the time if the injury stemmed from the nightclub incident, or if that was even the real reason for his absence. Differing accounts of the story had Sanders either as the champagne bottle-wielding aggressor or the victim of getting "jumped" by a group of bar patrons, though at this point we'll probably never know exactly what happened. A Sussex man reportedly required eight stitches to close a gash on his head caused by Sanders striking him.

The incident occurred hours after Sanders expressed disappointment over his lack of minutes in Saturday's home opening loss to Toronto and just a day before Sanders missed practice to be with his wife for the birth of their second child on Monday. So you could say it's been a rather eventful week in the Sanders household.

While Sanders appears to be in the clear in terms if criminal charges, it's not yet known what further disciplinary action the Bucks or NBA may take with him. The Bucks next host the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, but they did just fine without Sanders against Cleveland, an ongoing (and surprising) theme of the early season for Milwaukee. While Sanders struggled to stay on the court in the Bucks' first three games, strong performances from Zaza Pachulia and John Henson have kept the Bucks afloat thus far, and the Bucks got further good news on Wednesday when Ekpe Udoh returned to the lineup for the first time this season.
