Bucks vs. Wizards halftime update: Dominant first half has Washington up 60-44

The Milwaukee Bucks are having a hard time scoring in D.C. The Washington Wizards are experiencing no such trouble.

Rob Carr

At the half, the Washington Wizards lead the Milwaukee Bucks 60-44 behind 17 points from Martell Webster and John Wall's 11 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks shot just 42.6% in the first half. Monta Ellis leads Milwaukee with 14 points on 7-10 shooting, while J.J. Redick has hit 3 triples off the bench and has 13.

The Bucks look extremely sloppy, sailing passes out of bounds or fumbling them away when they stay in. Ersan Ilyasova struggled in particular, shooting just 3-10 in the first half and missing a few easy shots in close. Meanwhile the Bucks' defense hasn't been able to slow down the Wizards, with Emeka Okafor (1-4 FGs, 2 pts, 4 rebs) the only Washington player having a poor offensive half.

Brandon Jennings attempted (and made) just one shot in the first half, a set jumper from above the free-throw line off an offensive rebound. He added 4 assists, though he could've had at least one more if not for a missed layup by Ilyasova. Also hurting the Bucks' offense is a lack of freebies: they've yet to attempt a free throw, the first time the team went an entire half without a trip to the stripe since 2008.
