We love Giannis Antetokounmpo because he does things on a basketball court that defy our conception of time and space and physics. Case in point: Last night's Vine of Giannis swallowing Caron Butler alive in Detroit was looped over 2.6 million times in 24 hours.
So just to remind us that he can do the incredible every night, he figured he'd give us some more moves to ogle at on Saturday night against the Rockets. Yes, the Bucks lost to James Harden and the Rockets, but not before Giannis racked up 17 points, 7 rebounds and two blocks thanks to plays like these.
First, there was the garden variety alley-oop from Jerryd Bayless. YAWN.
Then later he baptized his countryman Kostas Papanikolaou on his variation of the Dwyane Wade "windmill crossover," ripping the ball over Kostas' head into a two-footed landing and one-handed slam:
And late in the game -- minutes after a bit of a dust-up with Harden -- he pulled off another gorgeous transition finish of a similar variety (albeit with a one-footed takeoff)
The surprising Bucks ultimately saw their three-game winning streak snapped 117-103, but Giannis and Jabari Parker (19 points, 13/14 ft, 9 rebs, 5 ast) provided no shortage of silver linings as Jason Kidd's Bucks finished the first month 10-8, their first winning month since the Scott Skiles era.
