Jabari Parker reportedly has torn ACL, will miss the rest of the season

Everything is the worst.

Milwaukee Bucks fans have been holding their breath hoping for positive news the last 24 hours after rookie Jabari Parker sprained his left knee Monday night during the Bucks' 96-94 victory in Phoenix.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything good to share. According to ESPN's Marc Stein, sources have indicated that Parker suffered a torn ACL in his knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

A timeline for surgical repair of Parker's injury is currently being discussed by his representatives and team officials.

Parker suffered the injury while attempting to euro-step around P.J. Tucker of the Suns in transition. When he planted his left foot, it buckled inward as he fell to the ground and needed assistance going to the locker room. He flew back to Milwaukee for an MRI on Tuesday which revealed the severity of his injury. While we don't know the full details of the injury, it would appear similar to the ACL injury suffered by Parker's friend and high school mentor Derrick Rose during the 2012 playoffs. For now there can still be hope of Parker returning to the court by next fall, though nothing is ever 100% certain with an injury of this magnitude.

In 25 games for the Bucks, Parker averaged 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, and scored in double-figures in 12 of his last 16 contest. Coming into Monday, he was shooting 60.6 percent from the field in the month of December (40-for-66). He was named the Eastern Conference rookie of the month for October/November.
