The signing of Greg Monroe was unquestionably the biggest offseason storyline for the Milwaukee Bucks, so it's only right that we wrap up our season preview podcast series with a second look at the Monroe contract, the salary cap situation going forward and lineup combinations we hope to see (and avoid) in 2015-16.
Will Monroe catapult the Bucks into contention over the next two seasons? If not, what does the structure of his deal mean for the franchise? With the big man slotted into a lead role on offense, the big question is whether Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker will carve out enough opportunities to test the thesis that they are the true cornerstones of a contending team in the future. The details of Monroe's deal lead us into an exploration of salary cap scenarios a few years down the line, and Frank offers his always excellent cap analysis along the way.
In the back half of the episode, we turn our attention to lineup combinations for the 2015-16 season. I express my strong dislike of the John Henson / Greg Monroe pairing, but Eric and Frank suggest that I won't have much to worry about. We show some love to Grievis Vasquez and O.J. Mayo; I get back on the stump for Power Forward Giannis.
Take a listen to the episode and let us know what you think in the comments. Oh yeah, there's also a new podcast intro!
