Jason Kidd
On game's physicality...
"It's just guys playing in the playoffs. It's going to be physical out there with guys competing like this. Both teams were playing that way."
On the 4th quarter...
"I thought that we played a pretty good game for being on the road. With 2 for 15 down the stretch and then Butler was a one man show including shooting threes was the difference."
On their defensive play...
"I thought the game was like we wanted especially in the first quarter. It was not pretty and both teams might say it was not defense, but it was at our pace--ugly and slow. They came out at halftime and we gave up 32 in the third quarter. That second half was not our defense."
On stopping Jimmy Butler...
"They're a pretty talented roster. Almost any guy can go off any time for them. We have to make it hard on all of them, Pau, Rose, and Dunleavy as well as Butler, who got hot tonight."
On the big rebounding differential...
"Yes, it was 64-48 but I thought we did a better job especially with the offensive rebounding. You just go to make shots. We shot 35% for the game and you have to do a better job than that. Giannis had some great looks, it was just some of them didn't go down. We played better in the paint and I feel we're getting better with each game and confidence is growing."
On Mayo seeing more minutes...
"Yes, OJ played more tonight. Juice is a guy we know can put it in the basket. He just has to take open shots and make it. That's the same for all of us. I think as a team we've gotten better each time we took the floor. This is a learning experience for us. They held serve here, now we have to go back home and do the same."
Tom Thibodeau
On physical game...
"It's playoff basketball. You have the same teams going at it. A lot of it is will, determination, how bad do you want it. It is sort o the nature of the business."
On rebounding edge...
"That was huge. Rebounding is such a critical component. They are quick to the ball and they are aggressive. Joakim and Pau were terrific on the boards."
On the melees on the floor...
"It's an emotional game. I want us to play with a lot of toughness. But I also want us to play smart. So where do you stop? You stop right before it becomes physical. I don't want anyone thrown out. I don't want any of that stuff. I don't want to take our emotion away from us either. I want us to play with intelligence and play together. Controlling themselves is important."
Khris Middleton
On 4th quarter shortcomings...
"We did not pay attention to the details like we needed to. Then Jimmy got hot and got the Bulls going in the 4th quarter."
On his message to Bucks fans...
"We lost these two, but we are going to fight to get this series back. We are going to defend our home court on Thursday."
On whether he's expecting a physical game on Thursday...
"Yes. I feel that is the way they play so it is the way we have to play. We have to play intense and put up a fight."
Pau Gasol
On Milwaukee's aggressive play...
"They tried to give themselves a chance. They tried competing and sometimes they were crossing the line a little bit. That's why the referees are there to step in and do their job."
On the first altercation...
"I think we did a great job on our part of not taking anything from them. So, if that's the way it' going to be, that's the way it's going to be."
On Pachulia's ejection...
"He made a couple of stupid plays, not basketball plays and he got penalized with technical[s]. You just have to protect players."
On whether he thinks this intensity will escalate into Game 3...
"We'll see. We have to be ready for everything in this next critical game, a pivotal game in the series, always. We're going to be ready for it."
Jimmy Buter
On physicality..
"You just have to let it go. I feel like they are trying to get into my head and my teammates heads, but we just have to go out there and play basketball. We have another game on Thursday. Let's forget about this one and move onto the next game."
