Well, the Bucks are going to play playing later into the week.
After finishing pre-tournament play with a 0-3 record and a 24th seed out of 24 teams, Milwaukee pulled off a 97-93 upset in the first round against the Rockets. Houston was the 9 seed in the tournament.
In a surprisingly energetic game, the Bucks got big scoring contributions from Sean Kilpatrick (26p), Kevin Jones (20p/9r), and Rashad Vaughn (23p). Vaughn and Kilpatrick went 7-12 from deep and the team was 9-15 as a group. Micheal Eric held things down defensively with six blocks. Fun fun fun.
The Rockets got 49 points from Montrezl Harrell, Alan Williams, and Glen Rice, Jr. They went 4-19 from three as a team and ultimately that proved to be the difference.
By securing a win in the first tournament game, the Bucks will play at least two more games as they advance through the tournament. They will play the 8 seed Phoenix Suns tomorrow at 3 p.m. CT. They've already beaten the 9 seed, so how hard can it be to beat a team seeded one spot higher?
See you tomorrow.
