Report: Bucks, Teletovic agree to three-year, $30 million deal

The Bucks have dipped their toe into the free agent market.

In a very unsurprising move, the Bucks and Mirza Teletovic have agreed on a three-year, $30 million deal, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Teletovic has been a favorite of Kidd's since his Brooklyn days, and the Bucks have been linked to Teletovic a few times, most recently during last season's trade deadline.

The 6'9" 30 year-old spent three years in Brooklyn before a one year stop in Phoenix. The primary appeal of Teletovic is his perimeter shooting, where Teletovic has shot 37 percent for his career, including a career best 39.3 percent last season. It was no secret that the Bucks eyed shooting at every position, and this signing certainly could be considered a positional upgrade over Johnny O'Bryantwho was waived earlier this week.

Teletovic's NBA story has been pretty interesting. He gained some popularity for not backing down from an angry LeBron. More importantly though, Teletovic is a year-plus removed from a procedure to remove blood clots in his lung. The health scare limited Teletovic to just 40 games in 2014-2015, but he was able to return and play 79 games last season in Phoenix. It may be something worth monitoring going forward, but it is pretty likely that it won't be a concern either.

As for the deal and fit, $10 million/year is pretty low-risk value for a useful rotation player . With all kind of money flying around in this free agency, $10 million isn't necessarily a steal, but it also isn't going to burn a hole in your salary cap, either. Teletovic likely won't start, but can probably fit with just about any lineup the Bucks roll out, helping space the floor and knock down shots, something the Bucks offense sorely needs. All in all, this is a move that should help the Bucks bench and shooting needs without putting too heavy of a dent in their cap space.

With this move, the Bucks should be back to 12 players after Jerryd Bayless signed elsewhere. The Bucks have been linked to a few other free agents thus far, and the Teletovic signing shouldn't signal the end of the Bucks activity. Stick around.
