Brew Hoop Graveyard Shift: October 10th, 2017

JUMP SCARE!

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Today’s (on)topic: Milwaukee Rejuvenation

The New York Times provides a great summary of the construction that has been going on in Milwaukee’s downtown while also painting a picture for what the future ambitions our for the city.

For those that do not live in the Milwaukee area, I will say that it has been really fun, for me at least, to see the exoskeletons of commercial and residential buildings ascend from the ground over the past year.

Exciting times here in the 414 where the Bucks aren’t the only thing in town with a bright future!

Today’s (off)topic: Scooby-Doo

A timeless cartoon classic that has been desensitizing children to ghosts and ghouls for generations. Fred and Daphne always splitting up together, Velma never being able to find her glasses, Shaggy and Scooby always trying to squash their endless case of the munchies. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island legitimately had me feeling some terror as a kid.

The 2002 live action Scooby-Doo movie featured a great cast of horror/spooky movie and television veterans. Freddie Prinze Jr. (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Matthew Lillard (Scream). Does the movie itself still hold up? Eh, take it for what it is.

Also, shout out to the Harlem Globetrotters for being on Scooby-Doo, what is this a crossover episode?

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
