Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Today’s (on)topic: Giannis Re-Ups With Nike
Lost in yesterday’s frenetic news cycle, and game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, was Giannis Antetokounmpo officially extending his partnership with Nike. The attention he drew from Adidas and Li-Ning over his signature on an endorsement deal weren’t enough to get him away from the swoosh. An Antetokounmpo signature shoe is expected as a result of this deal. Just how long until the shoe hits shelves you ask?
The process of designing a signature shoe is typically part of a 14-18 month timeline.
Ugh now I have to wait until 2019 to buy the shoe? What will the shoe be called anyway? The Air Antetokounmpos?
It is likely that the soonest a "Giannis 1" sneaker would release would be during the fall or holiday seasons of 2019, according to insiders
Giannis 1? Man that’s lame as heck. C’mon Nike creative team! The man has the most unique name on your roster and all you can come up with is to cut and paste his first name and place it before the number one? Shame.
While I’m at it, Nike, how about updating your Jumpman logo to appeal to the European market? May I suggest this photo as the silhouette?
Today’s (off)topic: Which Juice is Best?
Simple question tonight: if you opened up a fridge full of juices, which juice would you pick? I realize juices can taste different from brand-to-brand, so the fridge is full of the juices that come from the brand(s) that you think make each juice taste the best. Feel free to comment with which brand you think makes the best kind of juice as well (hint: it’s Minute Maid).
