Giannis Tape Breakdown/Phone Cases

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Today’s (on)topic: Giannis Tape Breakdown

An excellent game film breakdown of how Giannis Antetokounmpo has made himself into a scoring behemoth. The body control, the way the game has slowed down for him, the long strides, the footwork, my God the footwork! I like how the author said that Giannis is “settle-proof” in that he won’t settle for a jump shot, but rather stubbornly get the shot that he wants (and makes nearly 80 percent of).

This is a really cool stat that I was completely ignorant of:

Milwaukee draws more defensive three-second violations than all but two other teams in the league because Antetokounmpo, unspeakable terror that he is, keeps everybody on edge.

I’m a little skeptical about the correlation between Giannis’ tendency to get into the post and the high volume of defensive three-second calls the Bucks benefit from, but hey, I’ll roll with it.

Watching Giannis play basketball is like how getting your first kiss feels, except it happens every night and not just once in the parking lot of a German restaurant.

Today’s (off)topic: Phone Cases

I have never used a phone case for as long as I have had cell phones on my person. I utilize the screen protectors because my grubby fingers would ruin the nice smartphone screen. I know a lot of people spend a decent amount of coin on a case for their waterproofing abilities and overall protection. I’ve never been one to drop my phone all the time or put it in a position to be broken. Maybe I’ve been lucky all these years and my day of reckoning is coming. A phone with a case seems too clunky for me to comfortably put in my pocket and walk around with. Any broken phone horror stories out there?

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
