In less than 24 hours, the calculus of an entire franchise has been altered.

According to a medical update released by the team this afternoon, Jabari Parker has indeed suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. And yes, for anyone who may not recall, this is the same injury that Jabari suffered in December of 2014.
The team statement also reads:
Parker will undergo surgery to repair the injury and will miss the remainder of the 2016-17 season. The recovery and rehabilitation period is estimated at 12 months.
Nobody is happy to hear this news, and it is unfathomable to even imagine what it is like in Jabari’s shoes at this moment. For a player who has gone through this path once before and came out on the other side stronger...it doesn’t seem fair for him to have to walk that path again.
We’re pulling for you, Jabari. Get well soon.
