Giannis Antetokounmpo’s stellar performance this year has brought him many accolades: potential award buzz, the cover star of Sports Illustrated, and now it’s given him a top-ten selling jersey this year. That’s not really an important factor in regards to on-court performance, but it does speak to the growing popularity of the Greek Freak as he becomes a bonafide superstar for the Bucks.
Stephen Curry, Lebron James and Kevin Durant topped the list in that order, but Giannis’ ascension since having the 14th ranked selling jersey in January is illustrative of his season-long dominance. Among those he’s ranked ahead of include MVP candidate James Harden, broken down Dwayne Wade and the briefly AWOL Derrick Rose. Here’s the full list of the top-15:

Anecdotally, there has been a steady number of Giannis jerseys peppered throughout opposing stadiums, and when I went to the Philadelphia game last week, Giannis jerseys were by far the most popular apparel worn by the devout Bucks fans that showed up to watch the clincher. Whatever the case, Giannis’ growth as a player clearly hasn’t gone unnoticed by the media, but it’s nice to know he’s getting popular support from fans across the country. Between this and his overwhelming All-Star vote, it’s quite clear Giannis has arrived.
