Milwaukee Starts First Day of Draft Workouts

A collection of collegiate seniors and basketball newcomer are among today’s participants

We all knew this day was coming, when we would have to truly reckon with the onset of the offseason. Well, it arrives in earnest today with the first set of draft workouts taking place for the Milwaukee front office and coaching staff. The chance of any top prospects coming to Milwaukee is unlikely given their relatively deep draft slot, but there should be a number of more notable names slipping into workouts throughout the next month or so.

Today’s first session includes:

Tidjan Keita (F, Cegep de Thetford)

Sidy Djitte (C, Clemson)

Rashawn Thomas (F, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi)

Tim Kempton (C/F, Lehigh)

JeQuan Lewis (G, VCU)

Troy Caupain (G, Cincinnati)

Now, I’ll cop to having literally no idea who any of these people are, but it makes sense that the first crop of folks are all collegiate seniors besides Tidjan Keita. By virtue of that, I’m immediately drawn to Keita as the most interesting guy, particularly given his 6’10” size as a forward and the fact he started playing basketball just three years ago according to the brief bios the Bucks provided. The only other guys DraftExpress has any significant ranking on is Djitte and Caupain, who are ranked 28th and 42 in their NCAA Seniors ranking.

Small potatoes at this point, but it’s something to start those draft wheels turning. Milwaukee also notes that John Hammond will be on hand to address the media regarding this past season, so we’ll update this story with that and any other potential workout interview videos that become available.
