But one peculiar name came out within his article on the matter: current San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon.
Another candidate whom the Bucks have contacted, league sources said: San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon. Hammon has no front-office experience, but has been a behind-the-bench assistant coach under Gregg Popovich for three seasons.
While Hammon does not have any front office experience, her inclusion certainly means the Milwaukee Bucks are taking every opportunity to truly broaden their search. Woj does not confirm whether Hammon is supposed to be granted a formal interview, but Milwaukee has at least contacted the Spurs about her. In American professional sports, that’s a pretty big deal.
Hammon’s foray into NBA coaching for the Spurs has been well-documented, but there's rarely been any inkling among most media stories that she's interested in a front office role. For now though, more names continue to trickle out from the Bucks potential search, and Hammon’s inclusion is the most surprising at this point.
