Report: Milwaukee Bucks Finalizing GM Candidates for Interviews

Interviews are set to take place in New York this week

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Milwaukee Bucks have finalized the list of candidates to interview with co-owners Marc Lasry and Wes Edens among others this week in New York. The list isn’t markedly different from what’s been reported by Woj throughout the week, but one new name added to the list includes Minnesota’s assistant GM, Noah Croom. Croom joined the Timberwolves staff prior to last season, after serving as Legal Counsel and Agent for Goodwin Sports Management (GSM) since 2002. Before that, he worked with the NBA and the Vancouver Grizzlies organization, where he was Assistant GM and legal counsel.

The other interviewees include current Bucks Assistant GM Justin Zanik, Indiana VP of Basketball Operations Peter Dinwiddie, Detroit Asst. GM Pat Garrity, Denver Assistant GM Arturas Karnisovas and Memphis VP of Player Personnel Ed Stefanski.

We previously discussed many of the candidates’ backgrounds, and you can read more about them here and here.

Woj says that Zanik is still being strongly considered for the role, and maintains he’s gained some momentum as well:

Zanik remains a strong internal choice for the GM job, with his candidacy gathering significant support inside and outside the organization.

It was reported that Milwaukee called San Antonio about potentially including Becky Hammon in the final list of interview candidates, but it appears that did not lead to anything substantial.
