Ruh-roh. This trade just got messy. The standoff has begun, two front offices enter, one front office leaves. What are the chances this trade just gets nixed and everyone stays put? Probably low, but if the Boston Celtics refuse to add more assets to the deal what are the Cleveland Cavaliers to do? That result would be incredibly awkward for the Celtics and Isaiah Thomas to say the least. Do the Bucks swoop in on Kyrie Irving if he doesn’t get shipped up to Boston?
Today’s (off)topic: Little League World Series
My little league team finished 2nd in our district tournament and never even sniffed Williamsport, but one of my oldest friends was on a team from Bristol that reached the semi-finals of the Great Lakes Regional and were two wins away from making it. Reminiscing aside, the youngsters from Lufkin, Texas (100ish miles north of Houston) knocked off the U.S. favorites from Greenville, North Carolina (home of East Carolina University) in a comeback classic. The Texans’ reward is the perennial power from Japan. My money is on Japan.
