Brew Hoop Night Shift: August 28th, 2017

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Today’s (on)topic: MECCA Game

We have 13 hours until the announcement so let’s make some predictions:

I feel like the jersey has to be a reincarnation of the 1971 Championship squad’s attire. I saw these floating around twitter and am placing the odds that one of these two renditions are close to the final product at -1000:

Keeping the franchise’s history in mind, the MECCA opponent has to be the Washington Wizards. The 1971 Bucks knocked off the Baltimore Bullets, which have since morphed into the Wizards, in that year’s NBA Finals. If the Bucks bust out the unis above, then this should be a no brain-er for the opponent.

The Bucks host the Wizards on Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, February 27th. The February clash is a nationally televised game on TNT. The UW-Milwaukee basketball teams should also be done with their regular seasons by the 27th. The logistics and national eyeballs make sense for a February date.

HOWEVER, the “Fall 2017” tag in the image would indicate that this will be played sometime before the Winter Solstice and all of a sudden that November date starts to look good. I doubt the Bucks marketing folks think a late-August date is within the range of being called Fall. If they did that would be upsetting.

Today’s (off)topic: Streaming Devices

I don’t have cable so I have a set-up that features a Roku and an over-the-air antenna for the local channels. Which platform for streaming do you use:
