The Bucks garnered significant interest when they announced that they would be hosting a "Return to the Mecca" night this upcoming season, their 50th overall as a franchise. Today, they probably stoked that enthusiasm even further by announcing that the game will be against the revamped Boston Celtics on October 26th. Even if the Kyrie trade is somehow vetoed, the opportunity to face one of the East’s premier teams on national TV (TNT) is always one that gets the fanbase, and more importantly Giannis Antetokounmpo, rather hyped.
As if the throwback to one of the most famed, artistic courts in sports arena history wasn’t enough, the Bucks also showed off the Nike Classic uniforms they’ll be wearing that night and throughout the season. It’s a remodel of their OG 1968 jerseys, and one that I’m particularly impressed by. People often pay most attention to the actual jersey part of the jersey (duh) and ignore the shorts. That would be a grave mistake in this case though, as the blocky lettering adorning their chest works plenty fine, but it’s that understated deer emblem on their shorts that really brings this whole ensemble together. These are the second pair of basketball shorts I’d love to wear around, the first being the Badgers classic beauties with old fashioned Bucky on both legs.

I’m looking forward to seeing the squad in these whenever possible, but they top off what’s shaping up to be a delightful slice of nostalgia for all of Bucks nation.
