This is a nice thought experiment but I really disagree with the Bucks’ hypothetical wheeling and dealing. Where the franchise is right now, there is no way they would sell off Giannis Antetokounmpo. If the Bucks weren’t gearing up to make a run at a Top-4 seed in the East, then yeah I could see how they would sell extremely high and spread the earnings across multiple up and coming players. That isn’t the case and Milwaukee being viewed through the lens of a “feeder team” does not apply now. Maybe the Bucks do not even find themselves in this scenario if the NBA had this transfer market type of player movement, who knows?
Today’s (off)topic: Big Ten Football Season
The Indiana Hoosiers are hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes tonight in a really bizarre Thursday night, conference clash that is also the first game of the season for both schools. The Big Ten welcomes the supremely annoying head coach, P.J. Fleck, as he leads the god awful Minnesota Golden Gophers down their continued path of sub-par football. Who ya got winning the conference?
