Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Today’s (on)topic: Sports Illustrated Top 100
The #SITop100!— Sports Illustrated (@SInow) September 11, 2017
Our annual list of the Top 100 NBA players is done. Today we reveal 100 through 51: https://t.co/V9AJ7XBiBi pic.twitter.com/EaGOPqdO1H
The Bucks featured one player in the bottom half of Sports Illustrated’s Top 100 list with Greg Monroe making the cut at number 72 (we have him as the 6th most valuable Buck). Which Bucks make the Top 50? Where do they slot Giannis Antetokounmpo in? It’s hard to imagine they would leave off Khris Middleton after including Moose, and I think they will put Giannis juuuuuuuuust outside the Top 10 even though his image is used on the graphic alongside household names.
Today’s (off)topic: 9/11
I don’t think anyone will forget where they were when they first heard about the World Trade Centers. I was in 3rd grade and an announcement came over the speaker that we would be having indoor recess. I looked outside and shouted, “It’s not even raining! This is STUPID!” The day went by and I got home and turned on the TV to watch The Simpsons, except The Simpsons were not on the screen. I sat there learning about what happened, what was happening, and what would happen. Feel free to share any memories you have of that day.
As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
