If you haven’t already, read Jabari’s section in this article, it is well worth your time. It delves into how his agent factors into negotiations, his injury history, and how the Bucks might have to sign him for whatever he wants since the team won’t have room to add a player of Parker’s caliber through free agency or the draft, since the Bucks figure to be selecting outside of the lottery for the foreseeable future. I think a max extension for Parker is unrealistic considering his injury history, but I understand the negotiation tactic being deployed. He’s slated to come back in late-February/early-March and that small sample size won’t be the handiest way to measure how much Jabari has recovered from his second ACL tear. How Parker’s extension talks fare will be the turning point for the franchise.
