Brew Hoop Night Shift: September 6th, 2017

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Today’s (on)topic: Playoff Restructing

I really had no idea that the WNBA started this two seasons ago and I think it makes sense for the league because only 8 teams make the postseason. Would this work in the NBA where the top 16 teams get seeded based on record, rather than conference? Possibly! I like the idea and this season will be rife with “Such and such team is a 9 seed in the Western Conference but would be a 5 seed in the Eastern Conference,” talk. Last season the Top 16 teams all made the playoffs, but the seedings would look different. In a total league re-seed the Bucks would be the 13th seed and would have faced off against the 4th seeded Boston Celtics.

Today’s (off)topic: Binge Watching Stamina

I’m currently on a Curb Your Enthusiasm binge to refresh as the new season arrives next week. As I’ve gotten older I have found it easier to binge watch for hours on end since I’ve seen the shows before and do not need to pay attention. Once I finish Curb I’m going to watch Twin Peaks for the first time and will absolutely be paying attention to that, so we’ll see how my binge stamina holds up with a new show. How’s your binge stamina - are you a marathoner with a handful of episode bursts throughout the week, or a sprinter where a season takes two days?

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
