Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on)topic: NBA Allows Gambling
The NBA is the most progressive of pro sports leagues, and now, it's leading the charge with sports gambling https://t.co/GFtJJFK3UV

So the NBA is looking to make betting on its games a thousand times easier for fans. Sports gambling is only legal in four states: Delaware, Montana, Nevada, and Oregon, but that could change:
But there is a New Jersey-based case that has reached the Supreme Court, which could potentially overturn the ban on widespread sports gambling in the near future. Several states, including New York, have legislation already in place in the event that the Supreme Court makes such a ruling.
Looks like the NBA is looking to put their own legislation in place anticipating a pro-gambling ruling. The league would demand taking in one percent of every single bet made (that might help increase the salary cap). They are even looking into developing a betting app and having racetrack style kiosks installed at arenas.
Imagine one of these kiosks goes up at the new arena. The image of someone jumping up and down in excitement because the New Orleans Pelicans barely covered the spread while missing a Giannis dunk from the free throw line would be funny. Also could you imagine that scene from Hardball where Keanu Reeves wins his big bet happened while at the United Center and not at a bar? That would certainly have added to the drama.
Tonight’s (off)topic: Cereal You Cannot Live Without
So you have to eat one cereal for the rest of your life. I don’t know how you found yourself in this scenario, but here you are with a difficult decision to make. Some things to consider: ease of eating, how the milk tastes after consumption, and flavor fatigue.
The ease of eating criteria is targeting Cap’n Crunch and all other cereals that cut your the roof of your mouth open. I could definitely not live with that for the rest of my life.
Any chocolate flavored cereal leaves the milk tasting way better and that is a huge plus. Cocoa Puffs are great and even the soggiest of puffs hold up pretty well, whereas Cocoa Pebbles do not particularly hold up well under soggy circumstances.
I never get tired of eating Frosted Flakes or normal, plain Cheerios. Neither cereal cuts the roof of my mouth open, so theres no separation between the two there. The biggest difference between them is that Frosted Flakes make the milk taste grrrrrreat while plain Cheerios leave the milk, well, plain.
My choice is Frosted Flakes, what’s yours?
As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
