Milwaukee Bucks vs Minnesota Timberwolves Preview: Rematch from the Showdown in Iowa

Bucks are looking to close the preseason on a high note.

The Milwaukee Bucks will have their preseason conclude against a fellow Midwestern foe, the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bucks are currently 2-1 coming after up just short on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This game will be the second-ever match at the new Fiserv Forum.

Bucks Update

Milwaukee rested the majority of their starters last game, with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Eric Bledsoe all sitting out. They joined Ersan Ilyasova, Thon Maker, and D.J. Wilson, who each had different minor injuries. The roster has already started to undergo some changes, with Shabazz Muhammad getting waived on Thursday.

Bucks Player to Watch: Tony Snell

While Donte DiVincenzo, Sterling Brown and Pat Connaughton have each brought something to Mike Budenholzer’s offense, Tony Snell curiously seems to be a step behind. Snell is arguably the best shooter on the team, but it appears he is still trying to find his footing this preseason. With his contract, Snell will undoubtedly be on the roster next Wednesday and still get a shot at playing, but he will need to have a good performance tonight to fight off the other wing challengers.

Timberwolves Update

If you haven’t heard, things over in Minneapolis are a bit of a mess. Jimmy Butler had demanded a trade, which hasn’t happened, and appears to have issues with fellow franchise cornerstones Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. Jimmy returned to practice on Wednesday...and shit hit the fan.

This doesn’t even scratch the surface of this saga, and I would recommend going to our Wolves SB Nation brethren Canis Hoopus for the break down. So...yeah, this will be an interesting team to watch until a trade happens.

Timberwolves Player to watch: Jeff Teague

Teague is a former player of Coach Bud and he was one of the four All Stars from that fabled 60-win Atlanta Hawks team. Teague is a solid player who can do a bit of everything and let the offense flow through the team’s three other stars. Whoever is guarding him will need to pay attention so that Teague isn’t wide open.
