Rapid Recap: Grizzlies 116, Bucks 113

Memphis hands Milwaukee their first loss at Fiserv Forum

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks’ undefeated record at Fiserv Forum is no more, as the Memphis Grizzlies escape town with a 116-113 victory.

It’d be a rocky rollercoaster throughout this one, and a tale of two half to say the least. Ice cold shooting dug a hole for the Bucks in the first half, but strong resilience helped them surge back into this one. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough in the end. The Grizzlies proved to be too much to handle down the stretch and put the finishing touches on a gutsy road victory.

For Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo highlighted the stat sheet with 31 points and nine rebounds. Marc Gasol would post a team-high 29 points for Memphis, with Mike Conley putting forth a 26 point performance.

Stat That Stood Out

Khris Middleton finished with 25 points, but to me, it was pretty quiet 25 points — especially during the period where the Bucks made their comeback. Players such as Pat Connaughton and Thon Maker were making MAJOR contributions that put this team ahead. It really epitomizes the difference of this team compared to last year. Had this game been played under the same circumstances but with Jason Kidd at the helm, it feels as if the Bucks would’ve been suffocated by a double-digit deficit the entire second half.
