Milwaukee Bucks vs. New Orleans Pelicans: The Greek Freak versus The Brow

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at New Orleans Pelicans Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off of a 107-104 road win against the Detroit Pistons, the Milwaukee Bucks are back at the ever-hospitable Fiserv Forum to welcome Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans to town.

Bucks Update

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks with 32 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and two blocked shots in 32 minutes against Detroit. He scored 30 of his 32 points in the paint. Chill, Giannis.

Khris Middleton broke out for 22 points and 6 assists while knocking down three triples. Point guard Eric Bledsoe chipped in with 17 points and 9 assists with only one turnover but did have some horribly timed missed free throws. D.J. Wilson stole the show, however. In 26 minutes he scored 9 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Wut.

Point guard Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) and Ersan Ilyasova (face) are still “day-to-day” as they rehab their injuries. Their status for tonight’s game has yet to be determined.

Player to Watch: Giannis Antetokounmpo

This seems obvious, but this is a big time matchup against Anthony Davis. This is what we’ve been waiting for. Let’s see how the Greek Freak attacks AD on both ends.

Pelicans Update

With all the talent on the Pelicans roster, to say that they have been underperforming this season is an understatement. They currently sit at 15-16 overall and are coming off of a 102-96 home loss to the Miami Heat. Yikes.

Anthony Davis dropped 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting while point guard Jrue Holiday added 22 points. Julius Randle scored 17 points and hauled in 10 rebounds. Here are two big issues for New Orleans: Solomon Hill is in their starting lineup, and their second unit offers little support. This is a recipe for chaos.

The Pelicans have the 4th-best offensive rating in the NBA at 112.3, but they will be without both Julius Randle and Nikola Mirotic for tonight’s game against the Bucks. That is a huge blow.

Player to Watch: Anthony Davis

It’s here...Anthony Davis vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo...SOON.
