Rapid Recap: Bucks 123, Pelicans 115

Milwaukee survives a barrage from New Orleans

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

It was an all-sorts of game for the Bucks tonight. At times they were trending north, other times they headed south. Whenever Milwaukee would build up even the smallest of leads, New Orleans would be right on their tail. In the end, it was DJ Wilson (???) who led the getaway and made this one done and dusted. Milwaukee would finish with a 123-15 victory and frankly, thank goodness they did.

For Milwaukee, Giannis led the contributions with 25 points. Malcolm Brogdon would score 16 on the night and Khris Middleton chipped in 14. New Orleans had multiple high scorers, beginning with Anthony Davis, who posted a game-high 27 points.

Stat That Stood Out

New Orleans’ 3-point shooting was the story of this one. Coming into tonight, the Pelicans ranked 24th in the league in 3PA with 28.7 attempted. That simply wasn’t the case tonight, as they chucked up 42 threes. It clearly frustrated the Bucks early on and throughout. Open shooters got clear sight lines all game long, and it took Milwaukee a while to get a hand in their faces. Thankfully, it didn’t prevail as the deciding factor in this one and Milwaukee was able to escape with a victory. But still — wasn’t expecting this to be the stat of the night.
