Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets Preview: Three-pointers Galore

The 24-10 Milwaukee Bucks welcome the 17-20 Brooklyn Nets to the Fiserv Forum for a Saturday affair at the Fiserv Forum.

Bucks Update

The Bucks beat the Knicks 112-96 last game out and they were led by a sterling performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo who finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists, one steal, and 4 blocked shots.

Khris Middleton broke-out for 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting while Brook Lopez added 17 points and hit three three-pointers. The President, Malcolm Brogdon chipped in 15 points and starting point guard Eric Bledsoe scored 8 points. D.J. Wilson was a bright spot, again, notching his first-career double-double (10 points and 14 rebounds) while finishing plus-17.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Ersan Ilyasova as he continues to recover from surgery on his broken nose.

He’s been fantastic off the bench for the Bucks recently, and he gets a friendly matchup against a Nets defense that ranks 21st in DRtg. Let the good times roll!

Nets Update

The Brooklyn Nets are a very solid basketball team, regardless of their record. Head coach Kenny Atkinson continues to impress.

The Nets played last night in Charlotte against the Hornets and came up short in a 100-87 defeat. The only Nets starter to score in double-figures was starting point guard D’Angelo Russell, who erupted for 33 points. Prior to their defeat, the Nets had won 9 of their last 11 games. Quite impressive, surely.

Bring your umbrellas, because it’s going to be raining three-pointers at the Fiserv Forum this afternoon. Milwaukee ranks second in terms of percentage of shots from three, while Brooklyn ranks sixth. Interestingly though, Brooklyn’s slowed its pace down considerably this year, scaling back from Atkinson’s go-go first two years to just 23rd this season.

A team that has been ravaged by injuries this season, the Nets will be without Caris LeVert, Treveon Graham, Dzanan Musa, and Allen Crabbe for today’s game against the Bucks.

Player to Watch: Rodions Kurucs

Not only is that a fantastic name, but he has also been a HUGE addition to this Brooklyn team this year. Only 20 years old, he’s averaging 9 points per game but has only appeared in 19 games this season. However, he’s averaged 13.2 points per game the last 5 games and seems to be finding his footing a bit in the NBA. He’s one of those under the radar guys that could give the Bucks a ton of problems.
