Report: Major Trade Between Cavaliers and Bucks

Jon Horst is on his grind, and a major shakeup is in the works.

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

According to both Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers have worked out a trade, and boy is it a doozy.

With John Henson (injured) and Matthew Dellavedova (overpaid) on the way out, Jon Horst has found a way to clear up the team’s future salary outlook. However, by attaching a first round pick and a future second round pick, the team is paying quite a premium for the luxury of dumping salary...not to mention shipping out two of the more influential veterans on the roster (even if they don’t figure too strongly into the team’s current rotation).

On his way back in the deal? George Hill, the point guard Bucks fans clamored for in 2015. Hill is averaging 10.8 points per game this season on .514/.464/.850 shooting, and will slot into the team’s guard rotation nicely. Provided his health keeps up (which is a legitimate question mark) and his defensive execution is sufficient, Hill could be a significant contributor to a Bucks team that has serious expectations for itself.

We will have more on this story soon (and after the matchup against the Golden State Warriors), but we bid a fond farewell to John Henson and Matthew Dellavedova. You might have been expensive, but you will be missed regardless.

UPDATE: Sam Dekker is coming back in the deal! Neat!

DELAYED UPDATE: It seems that Sam Dekker is, in fact, not a part of this deal. But Jason Smith is! So, there you go!
