Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on)topic: All-Star Weekend Preview
With just one more Bucks game before the All-Star break, let’s turn our attention to the weekend’s festivities in Los Angeles. The events kick off Friday night with the Celebrity Game where a familiar face will be suiting up for Team Lakers as co-owner Marc Lasry will hit the floor. The Rising Stars Challenge will take place after the celebrity game and the exhibition will be without an injured Malcolm Brogdon, but all involved will be looking nice in these throwback styled uniform sets.

Saturday night is when all the fun of All-Star Weekend takes place. First there’s the Skills Challenge and my money is on Spencer Dinwiddie to take the title, but we all know that Joel Embiid will get 80% of the attention and a few years from now we’ll look back at this event and mis-remember Embiid winning it. The three-point contest is my favorite part of the whole weekend and I think the out of nowhere guy to win it will be Wayne Ellington. The dunk contest has me excited to see rookies Dennis Smith Jr. and Donovan Mitchell throw down some powerful jams. The fact that they are the smallest guys in the contest means their dunks will look more impressive. I got Mitchell winning.
The G-League international exhibition will take place Sunday with the a squad of the G-League’s best taking on Mexico’s National Team. After the exhibition, the weekend’s main event gets underway at the Staples Center with the All-Star Game. My prediction: Giannis Antetokounmpo will have two more poster-worthy dunks and be a contender for the game’s MVP.
Tonight’s (off)topic: Which Rookie Are You?
Do you think you're like Lonzo? Ben Simmons? Markelle?
